Privacy Policy

Effective July 17, 2026

ToneLoupe does not collect, store, or transmit any data. This page exists to say that plainly.

Screen content

ToneLoupe reads the pixels inside the loupe frame using macOS's ScreenCaptureKit, with your explicit permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording). Captured frames are analysed on your Mac's GPU and discarded immediately. Nothing is recorded, written to disk, or transmitted anywhere.

Data collection

The app contains no analytics, no accounts, no advertising and no network code. We have no servers. We cannot see anything about you or your work, and we like it that way.

Settings

Your preferences (analysis mode, opacity, frame rate, keyboard shortcut) are stored locally on your Mac, inside the app's own sandbox container, and never leave it.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
